Welcome to Norberg, the small municipality with the big heart. Our operations reflect a strong commitment among employees, short decision-making paths, and a sense of community. If you want to be part of this, you are warmly welcome.
About the role
Responsibility for archives has previously been handled within an administrative function, but now we are taking the step to build a more structured and strategic archive management – and that is where you come in.
As an archivist, you work both operationally and strategically. In your daily work, you catalog archives, receive deliveries, release documents, and conduct destruction of records. You provide advice and support to the various departments, keep information reporting up to date, and are responsible for supervising archive management.
A central part of the role is building relationships: you work in close dialogue with the departments, identify needs, train employees on archive matters, and build a network of contact persons within the organization. Over time, you are also expected to contribute strategically, for example during the procurement of business systems where requirements for information export and preservation need to be defined.
You collaborate with the unit's registrar and an administrator, but you are responsible for the qualified archive questions. An early task is to investigate archive issues in preparation for the dissolution of the municipal association with Fagersta in the autumn of 2027.
We are looking for you
- A university degree in archival science, information science, public administration, law, or political science – or other relevant education combined with experience.
- Experience in archive management in public operations, including cataloging, destruction of records, and release of public documents.
- Experience in municipal and politically directed operations with good knowledge of the Archives Act, the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act, the Freedom of the Press Act, the Local Government Act, and the Administrative Procedure Act.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a natural service focus.
- Good command of Swedish in both speech and writing.
- Administrative proficiency, independent working style, and quality awareness.
- Ability to pedagogically share your competence.
- Category B driver's license. A car is available for the position.
Meritorious qualifications
- Education or experience in e-archives, digital preservation, or information security.
- Experience in process-based information reporting or defining requirements during the procurement of business systems.
- Experience in registering public documents and committee administration.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to see the role of information management from a holistic perspective.
- Good IT skills, especially within the Office package and archive or case management systems.
We place great importance on personal qualities.
