Water is our most important food source, and Gotland's water supply is a pressing and current issue. The unit for design and development of pipelines is part of the Water and Waste department.

The Water and Waste department works with the development, renewal, and operation of all our facilities, such as water intakes, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pipeline networks, landfills, and recycling centers.

Water and Waste works to ensure a secure and sustainable water and wastewater supply for our subscribers. We see our part in the whole picture and work for Gotland's sustainable development. We achieve this goal through good prioritization and planning, where work is carried out by engaged employees who have significant personal responsibility. This is done under a framework of good working conditions.

In our organization, we have both long and extensive experience, and you will never be alone in your job but will always have the support of the entire Water and Waste department. We are approximately 130 employees within the department looking forward to welcoming you!

You will be part of a unit of eleven water and wastewater engineers/developers who work with planning and design for the expansion and renewal of our water and wastewater pipeline network, as well as stormwater management.

Your responsibilities

We are looking for a driven Water and Wastewater Engineer to work on our pipeline network projects in accordance with our Water Service Plan and Pipeline Network Renewal Plan. The goal of this work is to secure a sustainable and long-term water and wastewater supply on Gotland.

You will work with planning and design in our internal and external projects, which involves creating drawings and other technical documentation using our CAD and GIS programs. This work also includes dialogue with landowners regarding land easements and servitudes, as well as preparing orders for execution. You will assist our subscriber and economic unit with applications for water and wastewater connections by suggesting connection points and handling various pipeline network issues. If you have experience with field surveying, pipeline marking and the creation of files for machine control may become part of your duties.

We offer you exciting work with significant responsibilities, collaboration with development-oriented and knowledgeable colleagues, and a creative work environment that shapes the future! Your employment includes benefits such as a fitness hour, a fitness allowance, and a flexible working hours agreement.

The position will be under the unit for design and development of pipelines (PUL), and your workplace will be in Visby. There is an opportunity to work from home on occasional days when the work allows.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a technical university or post-secondary education in Water and Wastewater or another area that we consider equivalent.

We would like you to have a few years of work experience in the Water and Wastewater field, preferably with experience in designing pipeline networks. Experience working with CAD and GIS systems is meritorious. Experience with surveying or field inspection of pipeline networks is also meritorious. You must have fluent Swedish in both speech and writing. A B-class driver's license is required for the position.

As a person, you are proactive and independent; you identify opportunities for improvement and take responsibility for driving them forward. You are flexible and can easily adapt to changed conditions and new tasks. You enjoy collaborating with others, where you contribute ideas and listen to others' perspectives. Additionally, you are structured in your approach to work – you plan, organize, and follow up on tasks methodically, ensuring that projects are completed on time and with high quality.
