A 8 has been tasked with establishing a readiness unit in 2026 as part of the multinational force for FLF Finland.

In connection with this, the 19th Brigade Artillery Battalion is recruiting for GSS/K.

This is an opportunity for you who want to be part of a historic mission for the Artillery, the Swedish Armed Forces, and Sweden within the framework of NATO.

Main Responsibilities

The majority of the force contribution is stationed in Boden and conducts operations within the framework of FLF Finland in both Sweden and Finland. The activities will include exercises, training, education, and readiness in both Sweden and Finland.

To meet the Swedish Armed Forces' physical standards, physical training is included as part of your duties.

Available Positions

  • Archer Crews
  • AmH Personnel (Artillery Observation)
  • Reconnaissance and Wheel Loader Groups
  • Logistics Soldiers (ammunition, fuel, and quartermaster)
  • Meteorological Reconnaissance Soldiers
  • Medical Personnel (medical team)
  • Vehicle Drivers (e.g., heavy trucks, BV410, armored off-road vehicles, wheel loaders, heavy personnel off-road vehicles, and trailers)

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Completed basic military training with passing grades
  • Relevant military position-specific training. The aim is for you to be employed in the position corresponding to your basic training.
  • Passed FM FysS (Physical Fitness Test)
  • Passed medical examination

Personal Attributes

You are a strong team player, proactive, and responsible. You are flexible and can quickly adjust your pace when required.

Personal suitability is highly valued.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in artillery functions
  • Category B driving license
  • Military driver's permits

  • Employment type: Fixed-term employment for 6 years. The Swedish Armed Forces apply a six-month probation period.

  • Working hours: Primarily daytime 07:30–16:30, but evening and weekend work is common. Operational readiness of 1–3 days is applied for all personnel included in FLF. Internal training and travel occur. The employment entails work obligations both nationally and internationally.

Boden Artillery Regiment, A 8, is the Swedish Armed Forces' competence center for indirect fire. The regiment preserves and develops competencies, equipment, and methods for future capabilities to detect and engage targets at long range and with high precision. A 8 has functional responsibility for CAS (Close Air Support) – leading air support against ground targets – and for meteorological services within the Army of the Swedish Armed Forces. Winter warfare is a special competence for the unit in Boden. Every day and every hour, our employees make efforts that impact other people's lives, big and small, both at home and around the world.
