About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Kriminalvården)
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and client transport.

Job Description
Are you a passionate mobile app developer who wants to contribute to the public good? Do you want to be part of our digital journey and shape future mobile app solutions within the Prison and Probation Service? Then this might be the job for you.
The Transport and Electronic Monitoring Section plays a vital role in the Prison and Probation Service's digitalization strategy to ensure the agency reaches its goals. We are in an exciting phase of digitalization with a focus on mobile applications, and we are now looking for you who want to influence this development.
You will join a team with great collaboration where we support each other and ensure we succeed together. Continuous learning is an important part of our success, and there will be time to familiarize yourself with the working methods and approaches we use within the mobility area.
In the role of Mobile App Developer with us, you will:
- Develop and maintain mobile applications in both cross-platform and native, depending on specific needs and requirements.
- Work together with other developers, architects, requirement specifiers, UX designers, and other stakeholders within the Prison and Probation Service.
- Be part of our digital journey and contribute to improving how the Prison and Probation Service works with mobile apps.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with specialist knowledge and the ability to work independently and structured. You are persistent in your work and possess the flexibility required to handle varying tasks. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for you who have:
- Post-secondary education in IT, such as a degree in computer engineering or systems science in a relevant field, or other education combined with experience that the Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
- Several years of experience in system development, e.g., in C#/.NET.
- Several years of experience in mobile app development.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
- Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
The following are also meritorious:
- Experience with .NET MAUI or Xamarin.
- Experience with Native iOS and/or Android.
- Experience with Flutter or React Native.
- Experience with Azure DevOps.
- Experience with authentication, certificate-based solutions, or security-related mobile flows.
- Experience working in security-critical or business-critical systems.
- Experience with MDM solutions (Mobile Device Management) and enterprise distribution of mobile applications.
- Knowledge of mobile platforms, including lifecycles, offline features, and distribution.
