ABOUT KVIKKJOKK MOUNTAIN STATION

This is one of the pearls of the Swedish mountain world. An excellent starting point for easy or difficult hikes or day trips.

Kvikkjokk is located deep in the Lapland mountain world – at the end of the road. Those who seek the wilderness and nature's absolute beauty must visit Kvikkjokk. Adjacent to Kvikkjokk lie the two large national parks, Padjelanta and Sarek, which together with Stora Sjöfallet form the World Heritage Site of Laponia, established by UNESCO in 1995. The famous and popular Kungsleden (King's Trail) passes through the village.

As early as the 1700s, Carl von Linné was exploring Kvikkjokk and spoke of the beauty of the place. He collected and classified the flora of the area.

In 1928, Kvikkjokk Mountain Station was built, and over the years, many of Sweden's great names have visited this place during their mountain hikes. Dag Hammarskjöld has been here, as have authors such as Björn-Erik Höijer, Harry Martinson, Bo Bergman, and King Gustaf V. The walls speak.

Kvikkjokk Mountain Station is affiliated with STF (Swedish Tourist Association). There are 60 beds in two- and four-bed rooms in two buildings, one of which is the original timbered structure with a mosquito-protected veranda overlooking the rapids, cozy rooms, and social areas.

WE ARE NOW LOOKING FOR SUMMER HEROES FOR THE RESTAURANT

The frost has just lifted, and we need summer heroes for the wonderful restaurant at Kvikkjokk Mountain Station. We are looking for 3 people; you will have the best summer and perhaps a bit of autumn if you wish. If you are a team of more people, we can arrange that too. If you are looking for a job, you are of course welcome. We are looking for our heroes for the dining room; everything else is in place.
