RESPONSIBILITIES
Do you want to contribute to safe and sustainable food handling?
We are looking for an engaged and service-oriented Food Inspector/Licensing Officer who wants to create good conditions for businesses while safeguarding human health and safety.
As a Food Inspector/Licensing Officer, you work with supervision, control, and case processing in accordance with food legislation. You are responsible for planning and conducting inspections of food businesses, as well as processing applications and permits. The role involves close contact with business owners, colleagues, and other authorities.
Your responsibilities include:
- Conducting food inspections and controls.
- Processing cases in accordance with food legislation.
- Handling permit and supervision cases regarding alcohol, tobacco, nicotine products, and certain over-the-counter medicines.
- Conducting supervision of businesses covered by these regulations.
- Providing advice and information to businesses and the public.
- Writing inspection reports, decisions, and statements.
- Following up on deviations and taking appropriate measures.
- Participating in the development of the organization's routines and working methods.
Our workplace is centrally located in Gävle, close to the train station with good commuting opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have:
- A university degree in environmental and health protection, food science, biology, food agronomy, nutrition science, law, or economics, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
- A driver's license and driving experience.
- Good computer skills.
- Good knowledge of food legislation, the Alcohol Act, and/or public administration.
It is an advantage if you have experience in food control, the Alcohol and Tobacco Act, supervision work, or case processing within the public sector. Work experience in bookkeeping and good skills in reading and understanding annual reports and balance sheets are also valued.
