Your Workplace

Markaryd Municipality's Road/Park Unit consists of a unit manager, a technical administrator, two road workers, eight park workers, a lighting technician (40%), and a road/project engineer.

Your Responsibilities

Plan and prioritize sustainable maintenance efforts for streets and roads. Develop and monitor long-term investment plans. Work with condition assessments and needs-based planning. Lead investment and maintenance projects. Contribute to energy efficiency improvements in street lighting. Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and internal operations. Participate in budgeting and contribute to sustainable economic planning. Lead the road and park workers together with the unit manager.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

- Post-secondary education with a technical focus, such as civil engineering (roads and water) or other education/experience that we assess as equivalent.

- Experience in road maintenance, other ground works, or technical administration.

- Knowledge of asphalt, lighting, and/or stormwater management.

- Good communication skills in Swedish, both verbal and written.

- Valid Class B driver's license.

Merits

- Interest in sustainable development within infrastructure.

- Leadership training or similar.

- Experience working in a politically governed organization.
