This is the opportunity for you who want to work practically and thrive behind the wheel of a forklift. Here you will be part of an exciting growth journey and develop in a role where every day is varied and educational. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of the Adapteos team where your contribution makes a difference in production, for the environment, and in society. At Adapteo, you become part of a close-knit and flat-hierarchy group where everyone helps each other and has fun together. We look forward to your application!

About the position

Adapteo is the leading provider in the Nordics of flexible, modular, and sustainable building solutions, from offices and schools to housing and healthcare facilities. The company builds adaptable buildings that can be scaled up, scaled down, moved, or reused. Adapteo uses a circular business model where the lifespan of modules is extended, resources are used efficiently, and the climate footprint is minimized, with a focus on reuse, resource efficiency, and fossil-free transport.

Adapteo is currently building a new and state-of-the-art facility in Uppsala, an investment that brings together workshop, warehouse, offices, and showroom under one roof and will become a key part of the company's future production and growth. As a forklift driver at Adapteo, you will have a central and primarily operational role where you are responsible for handling and moving modules at the facility in a safe and efficient manner. Most of your workday is spent outdoors on the yard, where you drive counterbalance forklifts to handle heavy modules and loads, with a lifting capacity of up to 20 tons. The modules you work with weigh approximately 4–11 tons and measure between 9 x 3 x 3.2 meters and 11 x 4 x 3.56 meters, which places high demands on precision, safety, and good driving skills. You load and unload modules from trucks, move them between different areas, and ensure they are placed correctly according to the plan. The work requires both precision and safety awareness, as you handle large units and are responsible for their stability and secure placement.

In addition to the actual forklift driving, you play a key role in keeping the flow moving. You ensure that modules are delivered to the workshop on time for reconditioning and receive finished modules that are to be placed before further transport. You work closely with the workshop, production, and transport teams to ensure that the right module is in the right place at the right time, where your contribution is crucial for the business to run smoothly without interruptions. The role also includes some administrative elements, such as planning loading and unloading for upcoming transports, documenting where the modules are located, and maintaining ongoing dialogue with colleagues via phone and email. However, the administrative part is a smaller portion of the work; the focus is on the practical and operational aspects.

A typical day begins with the team gathering to go through the day's plan together with colleagues and supervisors. During the day, you collaborate closely with your colleagues, learn new tasks, share ideas, and contribute to improvements in the workflow. The role is practical, varied, and developmental; you continuously build your competence and take responsibility. The work initially takes place at Adapteo's hub in Enköping, but in the long term, everything will move to the new state-of-the-art facility in Uppsala, where you will be part of an exciting growth journey.

This is a consultancy assignment, which means you will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant at Adapteo. The assignment will be full-time and long-term. There are very good chances of permanent hire, provided that all parties are satisfied with the collaboration.
