Make a difference. Every day.

We are a dedicated team driven by a shared desire to constantly improve our work. Together, we actively engage in improvement work, striving to develop both our operations and our own competencies, always with the patient in focus.

At the Oncology Outpatient Clinic for Medical Treatment, you are offered stimulating and developmental work in a competent team where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a good work climate are part of everyday life. Our vision is a workplace where present leadership and strong employee engagement together create a secure, inclusive, and developmental work environment.

The unit is organized into different treatment teams based on cancer diagnosis. Currently, we treat patients with urological and gastrointestinal cancer. The treatments have both curative and palliative intentions. Here, you work with medical technology equipment and administer intravenous medications, including cytostatics.

In addition to the treatment teams, we have a Day Care Team (DJ) that receives patients in need of acute medical assessment or care, for example, due to side effects from their illness or treatment. The team also handles allergic reactions, is responsible for pre- and post-operative care in connection with the insertion of subcutaneous venous ports and various types of punctures. We also have doctor's clinics where contact nurses and nursing assistants work.

You are employed at the Oncology Outpatient Clinic for Medical Treatment, which consists of different parts, meaning you work across the entire unit and thus meet patients with different diagnoses. We who work here appreciate this as it contributes to broader competency development and makes the operation less vulnerable.

Responsibilities

In the role of a nurse, you have significant responsibility and make your own assessments prior to planned cytostatic treatment. In addition to administering treatments, you inform the patient about the cytostatics, their effects, and possible side effects, as well as handle any hypersensitivity reactions. You are responsible for the long-term planning regarding the patient's treatment and cancer rehabilitation. The work is carried out according to PAS (Patient Responsible Nurse), where you as a nurse ensure continuity in care.

The work involves a fair amount of telephone contact for counseling, telephone orders, and side effect checks. We strive to work in a patient-centered manner, which requires sensitivity from you and means that you conduct supportive and difficult conversations.

As an employee, you are engaged and involved in the operation and development of the unit, as well as the work environment and work climate.

We offer you:

  • a good introduction
  • continuous supervision
  • development opportunities
