Facility Technician at Tomelilla Municipality

As a Facility Technician at Tomelilla Municipality, you will belong to the Streets/Parks and Property department, which consists of a operations manager, project manager, administrator, property manager, property technician, facility technician, and caretaker. Together, we manage approximately 54,000 m² of the municipality's property portfolio, consisting of the town hall, schools, preschools, service housing, as well as swimming and leisure facilities.

Job Responsibilities

The daily tasks primarily consist of performing ongoing repairs and maintenance in the municipality's premises and associated mechanical and technical equipment. The work is mainly carried out in schools, preschools, leisure facilities, and special housing.

The position also includes recurring inspections, such as within systematic fire safety work with monthly tests of the premises' fire alarm systems, as well as environmental controls, such as legionella checks and other regular readings.

The duties also include maintenance, repairs, and supervision of heating, water, sewage, and ventilation systems with associated control and regulation equipment. Simpler repairs of electrical equipment may occur where electrical qualifications are not required.

The position also includes supervision, operation, maintenance, and some upkeep of the municipality's four pellet plants with associated equipment, as well as ordering pellets.

Administrative tasks are included, such as handling fault reports, orders, readings, functional tests, and documentation to meet current authority requirements.

A fully equipped service vehicle is available for the performance of the work.

On-call duty during evenings and weekends is included in the position. The on-call schedule is distributed on a rotating basis among the facility technicians throughout the year.

Qualifications

You have a secondary or post-secondary education in e.g., property technology, ventilation technology, plumbing/HVAC, electricity, control/regulation technology, mechanic, or construction.

It is an advantage if you have one or more of the following educations or certifications: Facility operator training for fire alarms, hot work, fall protection training, forklift license, boiler operator basic AFS 2023:11, asbestos general basic, SCADA control and regulation, digital property management, and swimming pool facilities.

Work experience from one or more areas within property technology, electricity, plumbing/HVAC technology, general repair, or maintenance work.

It is an advantage if you have experience with SCADA-based property systems as well as knowledge of electrical installations and control and regulation technology systems in properties.

We are looking for you who are service-oriented, responsible, and have good social competence. You work proactively, are self-initiating, and take the initiative while enjoying collaboration and contributing to a good work climate. You are practical, solution-oriented, and have a genuine interest in providing good service and helping the operations.

The position includes on-call duty according to schedule. This means that during your on-call duty, you must be available and able to arrive at the workplace within 45 minutes of being contacted.

You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. A B-driver's license for manual transmission is required, as well as experience driving with a trailer.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of technical jargon.
