Job Responsibilities

At our workplace, you are welcomed into a broad and varied operation. As a nursing assistant, your tasks may include blood sampling, various functional load tests, and handling urine and stool samples. The work involves pediatric sample collection.

Your duties are an important part of our daily operations. To thrive here, you need to be flexible and take significant personal responsibility in your work. Since you have direct contact with patients and customers, we value a good attitude and strong collaboration skills.

About the Workplace

At Laboratory Medicine, you are welcomed into an operation covering the specialties of clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical pathology, and transfusion medicine. We have approximately 200 employees and are located at the four hospitals in Västmanland.

With the patient and our customers in focus, we deliver services to healthcare in the form of sample collection and results, blood components, functional examinations, and care of the deceased. Laboratory Medicine works for good and safe care at the right time. Here, you will work alongside biomedical analysts, doctors, cytopathologists, nurses, nursing assistants, molecular biologists, chemists, and laboratory engineers.

Laboratory Medicine is accredited according to the ISO 15189 standard.

At our Emergency Laboratory in Köping, you will meet an experienced, competent, and collegial work group consisting of approximately 15 employees. We operate in a change-ready environment with the patient in focus. The sample collection staff consists of three nursing assistants. We offer you an adapted introduction based on your previous experience.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant with a protected professional title. Previous experience in sample collection and experience working in a drop-in operation are meritorious. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as well as good computer skills. Knowledge of the medical record system Cosmic and LIS is meritorious.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you are structured and quality-conscious, with the ability to plan and prioritize your work even during periods of high tempo. Furthermore, you collaborate well with others and have a good sense of service. The work can be physically demanding, which means good physical fitness is a prerequisite.

Employment Terms

Temporary position for 1 year. Full-time. Daytime Monday to Friday. Location: Köping. Start date: ASAP or by agreement.
