to apply for the job
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and interested in working in our 24/7 operations. Perhaps you are also looking for a position where you have the opportunity to work part-time or mostly at night?
Job Responsibilities
As a nurse with us, you work close to the patient and in close collaboration with doctors and other professions. You assess, observe, and provide care to patients with acute surgical conditions during a care period of up to 24 hours. You perform and follow up on prescribed diagnostics and treatment, and are responsible for pre- and post-operative care in connection with planned breast, neck, or hernia surgeries.
You prioritize and act in case of acute changes in the patient's condition. You coordinate efforts together with other units within the region and with the municipality, and ensure structured documentation, handover, and discharge. We work in both outpatient, inpatient, and day care, which means that you meet patients with varying care needs and care flows. At night, you work in a team with two nursing assistants.
Currently, we are primarily looking for you who can work part-time or mostly at night.
About the Workplace
Surgical Observation Unit (KOP) is an outpatient unit with a care period of up to 24 hours. With us, you meet patients with acute surgical diagnoses who are cared for, observed, and treated during short care periods.
We work close to the patient with a focus on rapid diagnostics, safe care, and high quality in care. We also care for patients undergoing planned surgeries within breast, neck, hernia, and obesity surgery, as well as day surgery patients who, for example, receive biopsies, iron infusions, and laxatives.
What distinguishes KOP from a traditional care unit is the combination of outpatient, inpatient, elective care, and some day care. The goal is for patients to have a short, efficient, and uncomplicated care process. The pace changes quickly from calm to acute, and you work close to the patient in a well-functioning team with many contact surfaces – both within the region's operations and clinics and towards the municipality.
The Surgical Clinic in Västerås consists of two care units and a large reception. We have an open climate, good cooperation, and a fine community, and our work group is multicultural with employees of different ages.
For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job, therefore we offer you:
- an adapted introduction program so that you become confident and secure in your professional role
- the opportunity for competence development through, for example, internal training
- a workplace for different stages of life, possibility of flexible working hours within certain frameworks
- free training in our fully equipped gym
- health allowance 3000 SEK/year
