The Regional Staff of the Northern Military Region (MR N) is looking for new employees to further strengthen the defense of Sweden. As an Operations Manager with a planning focus, you will work at the Regional Staff's Implementation Department.
About the Regional Staff, Implementation Department, J3
The Regional Staff of MR N is a war-strength unit located in Boden. The staff consists of continuously and occasionally serving officers and civilian personnel. The Chief of MR N, together with the staff, commands subordinate units, collaborates with regional actors, and leads security and intelligence services in the area. J3 primarily works with live operations and leads the production and maintenance of the region's Home Guard.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and plan national operations and develop tactical orders in the medium-term perspective
- Evaluate and analyze world events and how they affect MR N's area and war-strength units, as well as how these units should be used to achieve maximum effect
- Plan for protection and readiness within MR N
- Serve as Deputy Chief MR N and be prepared to join command teams and lead planning teams
- Compile and analyze C MR N operational reports presented to the Operations Command
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Officer's degree
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing – Swedish and English
- Good ability to use MS Office
- Category B driver's license (manual)

- OF 3 (Officer Candidate 3)
- Experience of planning according to PUT, SPL, or COPD
- Experience using ISUS and SWECCIS
- Experience working in a military staff
- Experience working in international operations
- Experience working in CBRN, indirect fire, or field operations
Other
Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.

The position involves business travel, and the tasks may change over time.

The Northern Military Region (MR N) is responsible for territorial land command in the four northern counties. The region consists of a staff and five training groups. The operations span from Kiruna in the north to Härnösand in the south. At MR N, there are seven Home Guard battalions and several support functions.

An employment with us involves placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required.
