The Management Office of Uppsala County Council is part of Uppsala County Council, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. We are now looking for a Purchasing Specialist for the Supply Chain team. About Us
Supply Chain is a collaboration between the county councils of Dalarna, Västmanland, Sörmland, Uppsala, and Örebro. Every year, we conduct procurement worth approximately 2 billion SEK, and our portfolio includes 100,000 items. Uppsala County Council hosts the collaboration, and Supply Chain employees are part of the same department as the region's own purchasers and procurement specialists.
Within Supply Chain, purchasers, purchasing controllers, environmental chemists, business developers, product, contract, quality, and procurement coordinators, an E-commerce manager, information specialists, and management work together to provide healthcare and dental care with consumables of the right quality and price. Our work makes a difference.
Your Role
As a Purchasing Specialist, you plan, lead, and execute procurements from needs analysis to contract signing and contract management. The work covers the entire procurement process, from creating specifications, drafting procurement documents, to contract signing and management. The role also involves providing support in procurement matters and developing purchasing and procurement activities together with your colleagues in the unit.
The work as a Purchasing Specialist is stimulating and varied, with many contacts, and you will become a central figure in the work. The role involves leading, steering, and collaborating with expert groups consisting of various professional roles.
The role of Purchasing Specialist requires business acumen and analytical skills. You take responsibility for your tasks, structure your approach, and drive your processes forward efficiently. You can prioritize and handle several different types of assignments simultaneously, which includes planning, setting up, and maintaining timeframes. You have the ability to adapt to the situation and your interaction with the recipient in a listening, clear, and smooth manner. As a person, you are secure, stable, and have self-awareness.
As a Purchasing Specialist, you will:
- Independently execute procurements, primarily within orthopedic implants, surgical instruments, as well as stapling and energy instruments
- Work closely with operations to understand and meet their needs
- Lead expert groups consisting of various professions
- Be an advisory and supportive expert in procurement matters
We are looking for someone who has:
- Clinical experience as a nurse or assistant nurse, preferably within orthopedics or surgery, and/or
- Extended experience as a purchaser of consumables or medical technology equipment for healthcare, preferably within orthopedics or surgery, and/or
- Extended experience in sales of consumables or medical technology equipment for healthcare, preferably within orthopedics or surgery
- Good knowledge of the Office package
- Very good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish, as well as good knowledge of English
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, or sales within healthcare-related consumables, products, and/or equipment
- Experience in working with improvement projects, such as material selection or changed working methods that lead to cost savings
- Experience in project management or other roles where you lead others
- Valid driver's license (Class B)
