1st Marine Base Battalion
The battalion must be able to supply naval units both ashore and afloat. All logistics support is carried out with flexibility, a high degree of mobility, and with its own protection. The support ship HMS Carlskrona is part of the battalion, with its main task being to create operational endurance for the naval units.
Training Battalion
The Training Battalion is responsible for the basic training of conscripted officers, soldiers, and sailors. The activity constitutes a central part of the Navy and ensures that the Swedish Armed Forces have well-trained personnel ready to serve in Sweden's defense.
Logistics Unit
The Transport Section is part of the Logistics Unit and supports the units in the Karlskrona garrison with everything related to fuel, ammunition, warehousing, and transport. Many civilian employees work close to the operations here, ensuring that logistics function every day.
Marine Base Staff
The staff coordinates activities and functions based on the decisions of the Commander of the Marine Base. The departments located on the staff are HR, security, execution, logistics, planning/training, communications, and finance. We are now seeking a Staff Assistant for execution and planning/training.
Main Responsibilities
As a Staff Assistant, you work primarily in an office environment in a central role within a department, company, or staff function – you are where the action is. You work closely with managers and colleagues as administrative support to the operations. The tasks are varied and may include among other things:
- Administrative support to managers within operational management, communications, dispatch, and office services
- Group reporting
- Reserve Officer (RO) processing
- Shift planning
- Bookings, orders, and coordination
- Assist in solving tasks within the staff's other areas of responsibility according to the department head's instructions
- Plan, prepare, and participate in the department's internal and external meeting activities
Requirements
Qualifications
- You must have completed military service (or GMU) in the Swedish Armed Forces within the last 5 years
- Approved military service grade, at least JA-2-2
- Completed and approved upper secondary education
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- Good computer skills, especially within Microsoft Office
- Category B driver's license

Other Information
Military position.
Employment type: The employment as GSS/K takes place in accordance with the law (2012:3329) on certain Swedish Armed Forces appointments. This means a probationary period of 6 months, followed by a fixed-term employment of up to 6 years with the possibility of extension for another 6 years.
Work location: Karlskrona.
Expected start date: As soon as possible or by agreement.
The position also involves participation in exercises and other activities that include travel outside the work location.

The overarching task of the Marine Base is to support the naval units with, among other things, logistics in the form of transport, basing, security, and healthcare, both domestically and abroad. The Marine Base has its headquarters in Karlskrona but operates where there is a need, for example in Berga/Muskö, south of Stockholm, and in Gothenburg. Other major tasks for the Marine Base include monitoring Sweden's 2,700 km long coastline and territorial waters.
