We have made our decision! We aim to become a leading municipality – and we have everything it takes to succeed. Short decision-making paths, collaboration across operational boundaries, and the desire to dare more. Our high ambitions give you, with your own drive, opportunities to grow and create positive change for the citizens. As an employee of Ekerö Municipality, you will have a valuable role in our unique archipelago world.
The Urban Planning and Building Administration is responsible for Ekerö Municipality's physical development – from planning to construction, operation, and supervision. We produce overview plans and detailed plans, build schools, process building permits, manage the municipality's properties and public spaces, and conduct environmental and food inspections. The administration consists of eight units and works on behalf of four boards.
Job Description
We are in a phase of development; we are growing, and we have many exciting urban and rural development projects underway! The completion of the bypass will connect Ekerö Municipality closer to Stockholm City, and with our unique environments, including protected and historical areas, we offer you a unique combination of opportunities and challenges in preserving and developing the surroundings.
We need to strengthen our strategic unit with a traffic planner who wants to contribute to the physical development of the municipality. Our projects vary greatly, and together with the strategic unit's traffic strategist and the Urban Planning and Building Administration's traffic forum, you will be a key part of building and managing a sustainable traffic supply.
As a traffic planner, you will work with long-term strategic documents and action plans in collaboration with other key figures in the municipality. You will also play a supportive role in ensuring functional and attractive traffic environments for all modes of transport at all stages.
You will work with strategic and operational issues in long-term planning, as well as adjustments that need to be made here and now to ensure safe and passable roads.
The position involves communicating with colleagues, politicians, citizens, and other authorities, which is why it is important that you have the ability to express yourself well and clearly in both speech and writing. The work requires good technical competence, initiative, and the ability to work independently with active feedback.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should:
- Hold a relevant university degree
- Have good knowledge and experience of traffic planning, both strategically and operationally
- Express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
- Be communicative and able to explain and simplify complex issues and contexts
- Hold a valid B-driver's license
We would also appreciate if you meet the following qualifications:
- Have experience working with Vissim
- Have experience working with physical planning such as detailed plans and overview plans
- Have experience leading projects from start to finish
- Have experience working in or with a politically governed organization or authority
Furthermore, we are looking for you who have a strong drive and are communicative, structured, and results-oriented. You are solution-oriented with both short- and long-term perspectives. With strategic thinking, you take initiative, drive development, and work proactively to improve processes and working methods.
You work systematically, deliver quality within timeframes, and follow up on results. You communicate clearly and can make complex information understandable to different target groups. Collaboration comes naturally to you, and you quickly build good relationships.
You are flexible and unpretentious, adapt to changed circumstances, and are happy to contribute your competence at several levels within the administration.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
