ENA Energi AB, founded in 1972, is wholly owned by the Municipality of Enköping through the company Enköpings Moderbolag AB. The company has been producing electricity and district heating from nearly 100% biofuels since the mid-90s, when the combined heat and power plant was commissioned. ENA Energi AB has just over 40 employees and delivers approximately 220 GWh to about 1,800 customers through a district heating network spanning 120 km, while producing approximately 75 GWh of electricity.

Shift Operator/Process Engineer at ENA Energi AB

Do you want to be part of driving a vital energy operation at the forefront? ENA Energi is now hiring both shift operators and process engineers for our combined heat and power plant in Enköping. Depending on your experience, education, and competence, the position will be adapted and filled as either a shift operator or a process engineer.

About Us

ENA Energi is a municipally owned energy company that produces district heating and electricity for the Municipality of Enköping. Our production is largely based on biofuels, and we actively work on developing future sustainable energy solutions. The combined heat and power plant delivers both heat and electricity year-round and plays a central role in the municipality's energy supply.

About the Role

As a shift operator or process engineer, you work close to the daily operations of the facility and contribute to safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly production.

Examples of tasks:

• Monitoring and optimization of boilers, turbines, and auxiliary systems
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving during operational disruptions
• Participation in operational and maintenance planning, as well as improvement work
• Analysis of operational data and follow-up of efficiency and environmental performance
• Operator maintenance and systematic deviation reporting
• Participation in revision work and development of operating methods and process solutions
• Involvement in projects and development work

The facility consists of a chip-fired combined heat and power block with an associated steam turbine, flue gas cooler, and water treatment. Additionally, there are steam and hot water boilers using pellets and oil as fuel. The role entails significant responsibility and great variation – from fuel feeding to ash handling and, for example, operating a loader. We are currently in the process of building new boilers and facilities and implementing optimization systems for production planning.

Shift work is the main rule, but periods of daytime work and on-call duty may occur.

We are looking for you who

For the Shift Operator role, we would like you to have:

• Technical operation education or equivalent experience
• Experience from process industry, combined heat and power, energy, water and wastewater, chemistry, or similar operations
• Knowledge of water chemistry and change management
• Good technical understanding and a safety-conscious approach to work
• Ability to work independently and in a team

For the Process Engineer role, we would additionally like you to have:

• Engineering education in energy, mechanical engineering, process, automation, or a similar field
• Experience in process optimization, analysis, and technical development work
• Ability to drive improvement initiatives and contribute strategically to the business

It is an advantage if you have experience with combined heat and power production, steam processes, combustion, automation/PLC, or environmental and energy issues. A boiler operator certificate is an advantage.

Other Information

The position is located in Enköping. On-call duty may involve a 1-hour response time. A Category B driver's license is required.
