Are you looking for a job where your skills truly make a difference, and where you are given good opportunities to further develop your operations? We are currently looking for a school counselor for our student health services, with the aim of strengthening our students' health and their opportunities to develop their knowledge!

Responsibilities

As a school counselor, your main task, not least through preventive and promoting work, is to support our students in their development and to help them reach their knowledge goals. This includes, for example, planning and working for the school's values-based work and combating discrimination, bullying, drug use, and degrading treatment. The work is largely carried out in collaboration with principals at the municipality's schools, colleagues within student health, your direct manager, but also teachers and parents. In some matters, you will also supervise and train school staff. The local student health work is led by the principal of each respective school.

The work involves conducting conversations with students and parents, at both individual, group, and organizational levels. Through your work, you contribute to creating a learning environment where all students are given the conditions to feel well and develop.

The position belongs to the Central Team, where the work team consists of a school psychologist, school nurses, school counselors, study and career counselors, IT pedagogues, IT support, and the manager of the Central Team. You work both on behalf of your direct manager and on behalf of principals. The work also involves following current research and building your quality work based on an analysis of previous results. The position is based at Hackås School and covers several of the municipality's schools as its field of work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker, or who have another university-level degree that we assess as equivalent. Previous experience from working as a school counselor or within a school social team is meritorious, as is other work within the school sector. Education in conversation techniques and experience in meeting groups and individuals in difficult issues and topics are also seen as meritorious. You also have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of handling IT systems. Furthermore, you need to have good knowledge of the school's steering documents. A driver's license for passenger cars (Category B) is a requirement.

Bergs Municipality is a Sami administrative municipality, and we therefore see it as meritorious if you have knowledge of the South Sami language and culture.

Personal qualities

As a person, you are used to working in teams while simultaneously being self-reliant, proactive, flexible, and solution-oriented. You have good cooperation skills but can also plan and prioritize your work independently. We also see that you have an inclusive approach and can create good relationships with students, guardians, and school staff. We place great importance on personal suitability based on these qualities.

We offer

Working in Bergs Municipality means becoming part of an organization in constant development and forward movement. Our employees are our absolutely most important resource, and we value you for your unique competence and experience. We have a benefits portal with a range of different offers, an annual wellness allowance, and the possibility of a wellness hour.

Start date: August 10th or as agreed.

Upon employment, you need to show an extract from the suspicion and criminal record register. Probationary employment may become relevant.

Bergs Municipality applies HÖK/AB (General Conditions) to the position. We apply individual salary setting. For this position, the current entry salary range is 32,000 SEK – 40,826 SEK per month, depending on your previous experience and competence.
