Do you want to contribute to safer and more secure care? At the Inspection for Health and Social Care (IVO), you will work with supervision that makes a real difference. We are now looking for inspectors with legal expertise for our office in Umeå.
About the Job
As an inspector, you work with investigating and assessing the professional practice of licensed health and social care personnel based on current regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate cases concerning the professional practice of licensed health and social care personnel, for example related to illness (e.g., addiction), competence, prescription of medication, care and treatment, or record keeping.
- Review patient records, prescriptions, and other relevant documentation.
- Conduct conversations and meetings with individual professionals under IVO's supervision.
- Act as the main case handler in some cases and a co-handler in others, depending on the scope and nature of the cases.
- Work in close collaboration with colleagues nationally, including inspectors from various professions as well as supervising dentists and supervising physicians.
- Contribute to cross-professional assessments and joint positions.
- Prepare decisions in cases and write reports to the Health and Social Care Accountability Authority (HSAN).
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A law degree.
- At least two years of current and relevant experience in legal investigation, case processing, decision preparation, or public sector authority operations.
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience from the court system, such as clerkship or work as a reporting lawyer.
- Experience in supervisory work.
- Experience working in decision-making or decision-preparing roles.
- Experience working within IVO's supervisory area of health and social care.
- Experience reviewing and analyzing medical records, medical background material, or other extensive documentation.
Personal Attributes
To succeed in the role, you need good analytical skills and the ability to make well-founded assessments based on complex materials. You must be meticulous and quality-conscious, with the ability to work objectively, legally secure, and with high integrity. The role also requires good judgment, especially in cases that may be sensitive or involve difficult trade-offs.
You need to be structured and able to drive cases forward, both independently and in collaboration with others. Since the work involves close collaboration with colleagues nationally and in cross-professional contexts, you must also have good teamwork skills and be able to contribute your professional perspective in joint assessments.
In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on your personal attributes.
