Do you have a technical background, preferably with experience in electrical systems, and want to become part of a global market-leading company? Do you have the drive to develop, appreciate teamwork, and enjoy solving technical challenges? Then we might be looking for you!

Your future role

You will report to the Production Manager and work as part of a team of competent and engaged colleagues who will help you integrate into the work and the team in the best possible way.

At the depot in Helsingborg, you will work with all aspects of routine and preventive maintenance for the X61 trains.

Depending on your skills and interests, the work will range from changing light bulbs to large, heavy mechanical assembly of bogies and wheel axles. The role involves performing vehicle maintenance and assessing their operational safety status. You must be able to follow instructions and carry out maintenance and commissioning according to them.

The role also includes:

  • Performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and modifications on vehicles.
  • Working according to instructions in existing systems.
  • Registering and documenting information in our current systems regarding e.g., action descriptions, materials used, etc.
  • Occasionally troubleshooting and correcting electrical faults on vehicles with the support of diagnostic tools.
  • Ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality policy.
  • Working in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Alstom Railway Safety Policy.

To become authorized as a train technician, our employees must complete Alstom's internal training program with a passing grade. This training is conducted during regular working hours and at no cost.

Who are you?

To succeed as a train technician, you need strong technical competence and an eye for detail.

You need to be structured and enjoy working according to clear processes. We also believe you enjoy working towards deadlines to ensure trains are released on time. You are good at organizing and planning your work well.

We also believe you are analytical and enjoy performing technical troubleshooting and finding solutions to problems. Furthermore, it is important that you are meticulous and have a high sense of responsibility, as the work of a train technician has a direct impact on the safety and health of all passengers. Good communication and teamwork skills are also important as you work together with other technicians and other staff at our depot.

To succeed in the role:

We value passion and attitude over experience. That is why we do not expect you to have all the skills. Instead, we have listed some that we believe will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Education/experience or a strong passion for electricity, technology, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience or understanding of technical work in the aviation, industrial, or automotive sectors, or similar fields where repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and digital control systems are part of your daily routine.
  • We would prefer that you are accustomed to assembling electrical and mechanical components according to drawings and instructions.
  • Good knowledge of electrical systems is a big plus.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and the ability to solve complex problems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the railway industry is advantageous.
  • Good language skills in Swedish and English.

As the tasks are significant for traffic safety, a approved medical health examination is required before any employment can begin; this is arranged by Alstom.

The work involves shift work with large weekend shifts. Apply today. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
