Your Role

In a world with increasing threats and high demands for robustness, we need to strengthen our ability to quality-assure and automate future IT environments. Saab is now looking for an experienced Test and Automation Architect who wants to design, develop, and establish the next generation of test and automation capabilities for our global IT infrastructure.

You will play a central role in shaping how we work with:

• Automated testing of infrastructure and platforms (on-premises and hybrid solutions)
• CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code)
• Test strategies for system and infrastructure layers
• Quality assurance in complex, security-critical environments

You will work broadly in the architect role, from concept and design to implementation and further development. This includes, among other things:

• Developing architecture, design principles, and target architecture for testing and automation
• Conducting technical analyses and investigations regarding tools, frameworks, and working methods
• Establishing and improving automation models, test frameworks, and pipelines
• Serving as a technical sounding board for solution architects, development teams, and management
• Ensuring that testability, traceability, and quality are built in from the start

At Saab, you will become part of an experienced architecture team and collaborate closely with developers, testers, DevOps/platform teams, security specialists, and the business.

The work is primarily performed on-site, with the possibility of remote work. Travel may occur, primarily within Sweden.

The location is flexible between Lund, Stockholm, Gothenburg, or Linköping.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a senior specialist or architect within testing and automation, with many years of experience in system testing and/or IT infrastructure testing. We believe you are analytical and structured, with a natural ability to see both details and the big picture. You are communicative and confident in presenting technical solutions in a clear and engaging manner, regardless of the audience. With experience in driving technical decisions, you take an active role in supporting organizations through change and development. As a person, you are unpretentious and team-oriented. You are happy to share your knowledge and contribute to building competence and strengthening the team around you.

You likely have:

• Extensive experience in test automation, preferably in complex and distributed environments
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and associated tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD for infrastructure and platforms (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions/Runners, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
• Experience in building test strategies and test architecture for system and infrastructure layers
• Understanding of environments with high demands on security and availability
• Experience with both on-premises solutions and modern platform technologies

It is meritorious if you also have experience with:

• Modeling and architecture frameworks
• DevSecOps principles
• Testing in containerized or virtualized environments

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the currently applicable security regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security clearance, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
