We are looking for dedicated leaders within embedded development – whether you call yourself a Tech Lead or a Technical Project Manager!

Within the Product Development area at AFRY in Stockholm, you will work on developing intelligent, connected, and high-tech products – where the software is often closely linked to the hardware.

Our assignments span several industries, including:

• Vehicles and electrification
• Telecom and IoT
• MedTech
• Industrial systems
• Consumer products

As a Tech Lead / Technical Project Manager within Embedded Software, you are responsible for designing, developing, and delivering the software according to plan – often in close collaboration with electronics and system teams. You lead the technical work in the team, drive architectural decisions, and ensure that the solutions meet requirements for performance, real-time capabilities, and robustness. Depending on your background, the role may involve a clearer focus on either technical deep-dives or project management and delivery responsibility – we welcome both profiles.

You coach and support team members and contribute to a learning and inclusive development environment. You thrive in a role where you can combine technical depth with leadership and customer dialogue.

The role involves many contact points, and you are accustomed to explaining complex systems where software and hardware interact. You also have experience with requirements management and can break down system requirements into concrete and implementable software solutions. If you have a background as a Technical Project Manager, we also welcome your experience in coordinating deliveries, managing stakeholders, and driving projects from requirements to commissioning.

You have experience from a similar role – as a Tech Lead, Technical Project Manager, or equivalent – or have worked for several years with embedded development and wish to take the next step towards a leadership role.

You communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

We would like you to have experience with:

• Developing firmware in C/C++ for resource-constrained systems
• Working closely with hardware (MCU, SoC, interfaces such as SPI/I2C/UART)
• Designing and implementing real-time systems (RTOS or bare-metal)
• Breaking down system requirements into software architecture and implementation
• Testing, verifying, and debugging in a lab environment
• Working with the entire development cycle – from concept to production

It is an advantage to have knowledge in several of the following areas:

• Embedded Linux
• Safety-critical systems (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 62304)
• Connectivity/IoT (BLE, WiFi, LTE, etc.)
• Signal processing or control systems
• CI/CD and automated testing for embedded
• Integration of software in complex systems with both hardware and cloud services

You have an education in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent.

Additional Information

The assignment may be security-classified, which means you may be subject to a security clearance.
