Today, approximately 1,200 employees work at Forsmark, and we are part of the Vattenfall Group, operating on a European labor market with fantastic development opportunities for you as an employee. Our workplace is beautifully located along the pleasant Roslagen coast.

About the Role
Do you have experience in power systems or automation and want to work with reactor safety in a society-critical facility? Do you also want to contribute to Sweden's fossil-free electricity supply?
Now you have the opportunity to do so with us at Forsmark. To reach our goal, we need engaged employees who want to work at one of Sweden's largest electricity producers while contributing to a better climate on our planet.
We are now looking for a Reactor Safety Engineer for the NESE group – Licensing Electricity and Power Analysis. The group belongs to the Plant Design unit at Forsmark's Technical Department.
Job Description
The group you will belong to is responsible for the development of safety reports (SAR), conducting primary safety reviews, and plant design in the areas of electricity and I&C (Instrumentation and Control). Dynamic power analyses are also performed within the group.
As a Reactor Safety Engineer (Electricity), you will be part of a team with a culture characterized by well-being, inclusion, and helpfulness. The group consists of approximately ten people of different genders and ages, with varying levels of experience. We can offer you exciting and interesting work with a clear connection between theory and practice.
The position involves reactor safety and its connection to the plant's electrical and control systems. The tasks include, among other things:
- Conducting primary safety reviews, which are done during changes in design or documentation to ensure maintained or increased radiation safety.
- Ensuring that the safety reports in the area meet current requirements by drafting and revising them due to new requirements, error discoveries, environmental monitoring, or other acquired experiences.
- Working with plant design during changes to the plant, either as an executor or, if necessary, as a leader for a temporarily assembled group to develop relevant plant requirements.
Providing support in reactor safety issues. This is often done in the form of documented assessments and opinions to support Forsmark's operations management or other parts of the organization.
Requirements
We would like you to have
- Relevant engineering education combined with professional experience in the field or that you have built up equivalent technical competence through work experience in the nuclear industry, e.g., through work in operations, maintenance, or design.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English. This is required as a significant part of the work involves reading and writing reports in Swedish as well as reading and applying international guides and standards.
- It is meritorious if you have good plant knowledge and also experience in nuclear technology, reactor safety, requirements management, or safety reporting, preferably in areas such as automation or power systems.
To succeed and thrive in the role with us, you need to have well-developed technical judgment, work systematically, and take responsibility for driving issues to completion. You are accustomed to collaborating with different parts of the organization and formulating clear, well-founded technical assessments. We always strive for good dialogue where we help each other achieve success.
