Through Rättvik Municipality and Stiernhööksgymnasiet, which is the host organization for Dalarna's Competence Center for the Food Chain (DKL), we are driving long-term work to strengthen Dalarna's food chain – from farm to fork.

Job Description

We are now looking for a Project Manager for the development project Efficient Local Food Transport in Dalarna.

The project aims to strengthen the region's food chain by developing new models for coordination, logistics, and distribution of locally produced food in Dalarna. Through collaboration between producers, processors, wholesalers, transport actors, public operations, and other key stakeholders, the project will contribute to increased competitiveness, reduced climate impact, and strengthened regional food preparedness.

The project will be implemented after the summer of 2026 until November 2028. The project is part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture's call "Cooperations for distribution of locally produced food and drink".

You will be based at Stiernhööksgymnasiet in Rättvik Municipality but will work across all of Dalarna for the region's small-scale producers.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you are responsible for planning, leading, and implementing the project's activities from start to finish. The role involves close collaboration with businesses, public organizations, industry representatives, and other development actors.

You will, among other things:

  • lead and coordinate the project's implementation
  • map the current situation, needs, and development opportunities within local food logistics
  • develop and test models for coordinated transport and distribution solutions
  • create and lead networks, workshops, and collaboration forums
  • collaborate with producers, transport companies, wholesalers, public kitchens, and other actors
  • monitor the project's goals, results, and effects
  • be responsible for budget, scheduling, and project administration
  • document and report to funders and the steering group
  • contribute to ensuring the project's results can live on after the project period ends.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • understanding of sustainability issues, particularly related to transport and climate impact
  • ability to develop and structure models, processes, and working methods
  • documented experience in project management and implementation of development projects
  • good leadership skills
  • knowledge of food systems, logistics, and/or distribution solutions
  • university degree or experience that the employer considers relevant
  • experience working with budget, scheduling, and follow-up
  • experience in documentation and reporting to external funders
  • experience in collaboration between public and private actors
  • very good communication skills in speech and writing
  • good ability to drive several parallel processes simultaneously.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • experience from the food industry or green industries
  • experience in regional development or publicly funded projects
  • knowledge of sustainable transport and logistics systems
  • experience working within EU-funded projects
  • a passion for the development of small-scale and sustainable food production.

Other

The position is a project employment (until 2028-11-30).

Start date: ASAP or as agreed.

Selection and interviews will take place on an ongoing basis.

In the event of an interview, a valid extract from the police criminal record, according to the Education Act, must be presented.
