About the Workplace

Assistive Technology Centre (HMC) consists of approximately 100 employees and has a turnover of 200 MSEK. We are a constantly growing, revenue-funded operation that rents and sells assistive devices to the six municipalities in Halland and Region Halland. HMC works county-wide with training/information, consultation, procurement, warehousing, and technical service of these assistive devices. We are located at the hospitals in Kungsbacka and Varberg, with our headquarters and production in 6,500 sqm premises in Kistinge, Halmstad.

About the Job

As an Assistive Technology Technician, you work with repairs on various assistive devices such as electric wheelchairs, patient lifts, electric scooters, etc. You perform reconditioning, inspection, and functional checks of assistive devices. Adjustments and special adaptations of assistive devices are part of your daily routine, as is advice and consultation. You contribute your technical expertise in training, trials, tenders, and assortment issues.

You work in close collaboration with our assistive technology consultants. The users of our products are people of all ages who need support in their daily lives from one or more assistive devices.

Most of your work is carried out out in the field with users, but also takes place at our workshop in Halmstad. The place of employment is Halmstad, but if needed, work at other locations may occur.

Qualifications

You who apply have an education of at least upper secondary level. You are comfortable using a computer in your work. A B-driver's license is required. You have experience working as a repair technician, assembler, or service technician. It is meritorious if you have worked in a workshop. Competence in the electrical field is meritorious.

Education and/or experience in the area of assistive technology, anatomy, or physiology is very meritorious. Also, knowledge of the IT support system Sesam2.

As a person, you are solution-oriented and proactive, and you are passionate about good service with the human being in focus. You are communicative, receptive, and show respect for people's differences. You contribute to a positive work climate and good team spirit.

You like to work both independently and in a team. It is important that you are meticulous and quality-conscious because we work with medical technology products. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
