ECA Operator Frövi AB is an innovative foodtech company with large-scale greenhouse production of tomatoes year-round. Through modern technology, sustainable growing methods, and a strong focus on quality, we produce local food with minimal environmental impact – without unnecessary transport, antibiotics, or pesticides.
We are now looking for an engaged and experienced Senior Grower who wants to take a central role in the daily growing operations and contribute to ensuring high quality, good yield, and efficient production.

About the role
As a Senior Grower, you work closely with the Head Grower and are responsible for the daily monitoring and optimization of the cultivation in our greenhouses.
You play a key role in ensuring that our tomato plants develop optimally through the monitoring of irrigation, nutrient supply, climate, plant growth, pruning, harvesting, and quality.
You collaborate closely with the Greenhouse Supervisor, IPM Manager, and the rest of the production team to ensure that cultivation strategies are implemented effectively in daily operations.
Responsibilities
Cultivation monitoring and production
- Monitor daily cultivation and ensure optimal plant development
- Work with irrigation, nutrient supply, and climate control
- Monitor plant status, production results, and quality parameters
- Ensure correct pruning, harvesting, and quality control
- Participate in planning and implementation of cultivation strategies
- Contribute to optimizing yield, quality, and resource usage
Greenhouse technology and climate
- Work with the greenhouse's climate control systems
- Monitor technical systems related to cultivation such as irrigation, ventilation, heating, and lighting
- Identify deviations and contribute to improvement measures
Plant protection and biosafety
- Work together with the IPM Manager on pest and disease monitoring
- Contribute to ensuring good biosafety and greenhouse hygiene
- Participate in monitoring biological control and preventive measures
Collaboration and development
- Support the Greenhouse Supervisor in daily work
- Contribute to training and onboarding of new employees
- Participate in improvement work within cultivation and production
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment
Qualifications
- Valid work permit for work in Sweden (applicable to applicants who are not Swedish or EU citizens)
- At least three years of experience in greenhouse cultivation or similar agricultural activities
- Post-secondary education in horticulture, agronomy, or a related field
- Experience in commercial or large-scale growing production
- Experience working with climate control systems
- Good knowledge of plant cultivation and plant development
- Ability to work in a structured and independent manner
- Good command of English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in tomato cultivation
- Experience working with biological control and IPM (Integrated Pest Management)
- Experience with greenhouse technology and automation
- Knowledge of Swedish
- Experience in leadership or team responsibility
- Experience in production monitoring and quality work

Employment conditions
- Location: Frövi
- Scope: Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Employment type: Permanent position with an initial 6-month probation period
- Collective agreement: Horticulture/Greenhouse establishments, white-collar workers
- Reports to: Head Grower
- Start date: As agreed
