Do you want to lead the future of sustainable food production in a modern and innovative greenhouse operation? At ECA Operator Frövi AB, you will take on a key role in a company where quality, technology, sustainability, and development are at the forefront.

We are now looking for an engaged and experienced Head Grower who wants to take overall responsibility for our cultivation production and lead the work together with Greenhouse Supervisors and Greenhouse Operators. Here you will have the opportunity to influence and develop a large-scale greenhouse production where modern technology and sustainable cultivation methods go hand in hand.

About the role

As Head Grower, you have overall responsibility for the daily operations and development of the cultivation in our two greenhouses. You lead and support Greenhouse Supervisors and the IPM Manager in their work and ensure that production is carried out efficiently, safely, and with high quality.

The role involves responsibility for planning, resource optimization, cultivation strategies, and production follow-up. You work closely with the management and board and are part of the company's leadership team, contributing to the business's development, strategic decisions, and long-term goals.

You play a central role in ensuring optimal care of our tomato crops through monitoring of irrigation, fertilization, nutrition, pruning, pest and disease management, as well as harvesting. The role requires both technical understanding and strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for daily operations in greenhouse production
  • Lead and support Greenhouse Supervisors, IPM Manager, and work teams
  • Plan, organize, and follow up on work in the greenhouse complex
  • Develop work schedules and ensure efficient resource planning
  • Responsible for cultivation strategies and production optimization
  • Overall responsibility for irrigation, fertilization, nutrition, and plant development
  • Ensure correct pruning, harvesting, and quality control
  • Overall responsibility for monitoring and handling pests, diseases, and biosecurity
  • Responsible for operation and monitoring of the greenhouse's technical systems such as irrigation, heating, ventilation, lighting, and climate control
  • Work with climate control systems and ensure optimal plant environment
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and functions efficiently
  • Responsible for onboarding, introduction, and continuous development of employees in your own team
  • Actively work for a safe, secure, and inclusive work environment where employees thrive and develop
  • Carry out employee interviews and follow up on performance, well-being, and development needs
  • Handle challenges and conflicts in a professional, clear, and solution-oriented manner

  • Follow up on costs and efficiency within production
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety standards

  • Participate actively in management work and development projects together with the company's leadership

Requirements

  • Valid work permit for work in Sweden
  • At least five years of experience in greenhouse cultivation or similar cultivation activities
  • Post-secondary education in horticulture, agronomy, or similar
  • Experience in large-scale greenhouse production
  • Experience in leadership within cultivation, greenhouse, agriculture, or similar production
  • Experience working with climate control systems
  • Good knowledge of plant cultivation and production processes
  • Ability to work strategically and structured
  • No criminal record (extract from criminal record)
  • Ability to deliver high quality and drive improvement work

Terms of employment

  • Location: Tjärdalsvägen 6, Frövi
  • Working hours: 07:00 – 16:00 (06:00 – 15:00 during summer)
  • Employment type: Permanent position with an initial probation period of 6 months
  • Collective agreement: Horticulture greenhouse establishments white-collar workers
  • Start: According to agreement
