About Us

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a transdisciplinary specialist service that encompasses a family therapy, cognitive, psychodynamic, and neuropsychological understanding perspective. Our task is to identify, investigate, and treat mental illness in children, adolescents under 18 years of age, and their families.

Our inpatient ward has 3 care beds and also includes an emergency reception. We are now looking for a permanent colleague to complement our wonderful work group. We exist for children and adolescents with serious psychiatric issues who are in need of inpatient care. The length of stay varies depending on the assignment, as we function as both an emergency ward and a treatment ward in newly renovated premises.

About the Job

As a nurse with us, you are part of a work group of 19 colleagues consisting of care assistants, coordinators, nurses, ward doctors, and the ward manager. The work group includes both new and experienced staff. We have close collaboration with Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's outpatient care and the competencies available there. Our ward is located in the same building as part of Adult Psychiatry's inpatient care, and we support and help each other in the building when needed.

As a nurse, you work as a team leader on certain days together with the coordinator. You participate in rounds for our inpatients, in acute assessments, and plan and evaluate patients' care needs and medical treatment. We receive calls around the clock from patients and relatives who need advice and support. In our daily work, we place great emphasis on ensuring that the whole family's need for support is highlighted, which is why it is important that you can adapt your approach and attitude based on the situation and the individual.

We are looking for a colleague who is confident in themselves and their competence, and who finds it challenging to work to some extent with the unpredictable. Within the work group, we try to make use of the moments available to gain new knowledge, but also for recovery and having fun at work.

You will have access to our internal introductory training, mentoring, supervision, and regular development time. You will work two weekends out of five on a rotating schedule of days, evenings, and nights.

We offer you stimulating and meaningful work with many personal encounters and significant personal responsibility. With us, you have favorable holiday conditions, a wellness allowance, access to a gym, and the possibility of flexible working hours.

About You

If you are our new colleague, you are a registered nurse. If you are a psychiatric nurse and/or have experience working with children and young people with eating disorders, suicidality, or psychosis in inpatient care, we consider this to be meritorious.

We want you to be flexible, have good collaboration skills, and be able to remain calm in stressful situations. You have a strong patient focus and see the opportunity to find success in the treatment work together with patients and their families.

For us, it is important that you have a genuine interest in working with children and adolescents with psychiatric issues and that you want to be part of developing our operations! We have recently started implementing Safewards and aim to be finished with it by the end of 2027.

Personal suitability is of great importance. Applicants who are considered for employment must present an extract from the Police Authority's criminal record register before employment.

Region Blekinge mobilizes all permanent staff for wartime service. Some of our positions are security-classified, where the employee must undergo a security clearance interview and register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

Since selection and interviews are conducted continuously, we ask you to submit your application as soon as possible.
