Älvstranden Utveckling AB is a municipal real estate company tasked with developing, managing, and long-term strengthening of attractive and sustainable urban environments. We are now looking for a Unit Manager who wants to take a key role in the development of central Gothenburg.

About the role
As Unit Manager for Plans and Programs within the Real Estate Development department, you have overall responsibility for the company's larger investment projects in early stages, from program work to planning processes. The role combines strategic responsibility with operational work. You have four reporting employees who lead the unit's projects and investigations. The projects vary over time. The assignment involves real estate development and various investigation needs within our land areas, as well as participation in the city's program and detailed planning work from our property owner perspective. You report to the Department Manager but also to the company's steering group for our investment projects, led by the CEO.

Your main areas of responsibility:
The company is facing extensive investment projects in early stages, including in Lindholmen, Frihamnen, and Eriksberg. You will be the catalyst and engine in the implementation of these. You have full budget, work environment, and personnel responsibility within the unit, as well as responsibility for driving the projects forward in accordance with set goals. You are expected to gradually develop and adapt the work within the unit and department based on the business plan and the company's needs.

Together with the Unit Managers for Technology and Production and Planned Maintenance and Premises Adaptations, you are part of the department's management group. You ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies affecting the unit's operations and work based on the city's framework for project activities in construction and civil engineering.

Your profile
We are looking for you who have a relevant higher education or university degree in civil engineering, real estate development, or urban planning. You have many years of experience working in early stages within real estate development, plans, and programs, as well as at least five years of management experience in the civil engineering industry.

You are a clear, present, and trust-based leader who creates engagement and involvement in your team. You are consistent in your leadership and confident in standing up for and supporting your employees, even in challenging situations and complex issues.

You have strong leadership and communication skills and are accustomed to collaborating with consultants, contractors, authorities, and other stakeholders. It is important that you have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act, real estate law, and environmental legislation, as well as an understanding of real estate economics and commercial aspects in projects.

You work systematically and have experience with budgeting and scheduling. You have good problem-solving skills, are proactive, and have the ability to drive work forward with a focus on results. You are confident in handling several parallel processes and actively contribute to the development of the business.
