As a Project Engineer on the Mälaren Line, you will contribute to a safe and stable railway system and the development of future railway maintenance. With your experience in railway technology, you will become a key cog in project management.

Responsibilities

One of Trafikverket's current development initiatives is the establishment of its own development platforms aimed at creating conditions for increased learning and more efficient maintenance. The development platforms have different focus areas, and one of the platforms is dedicated to corrective and preventive maintenance of the Mälaren Line (MB). The Project Engineer assists the Production Manager in all occurring project management tasks, such as:

• minute taking and documentation
• financial administration
• forecasting work
• monitoring regarding time, cost, quality, safety, working environment, and environment

As a Project Engineer, you are also involved in analyzing and monitoring events in the infrastructure to provide the basis for decisions on measures and orders.

The Production Manager, Project Engineer, maintenance engineers, contracted consultants, and contractors work together to deliver a safe and accessible railway infrastructure that in turn meets society's needs for travel and transport on the Mälaren Line.

The position is located in Västerås.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of Project Engineer, you have good problem-solving skills; you solve operational problems without missing the long-term strategies, and you perceive and analyze connections in the complex information environment surrounding the railway. You are proactive and can independently see what needs to be done and act accordingly.

You have good communication skills; your message is conveyed clearly, and you are receptive and adapt your communication to the situation. You are confident as a person and have the courage to express your own opinions. As a Project Engineer, it is also important to be collaborative and adaptable to achieve common goals, as well as having an unpretentious attitude to find solutions that are beneficial for all parties. To succeed in the role, you also need to be interested in technology and IT systems.

We are looking for someone who has:

• current and relevant experience within railway maintenance and/or railway technology
• current and relevant work experience in project administration
• a university or college education of at least 180 credits in a relevant field or other educational background combined with experience that we assess as equivalent
• excellent verbal and written Swedish skills
• very good knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Excel
• valid driver's license for passenger cars

It is meritorious if you have current experience and/or education within client responsibility and contract law with knowledge of AB04, ABT06.
