About the Position

The Community Development Department has approximately 40 employees divided into three divisions. The Administration and Environment Division works with issues within administration, the Environmental Code, the Food Act, the Alcohol Act, etc. The Map and Planning Division works with map production, surveying, GIS operations, and detailed planning. The Building Permits Division, including housing adaptation, works with building permit cases and cases according to the Housing Adaptation Act.

We are now looking for Urban Planners/Architects for the Community Development Department!

Responsibilities

The work primarily involves preparing and driving detailed plans from assignment to adoption, as well as being involved in other planning projects.

We are looking for you who have a great interest in community development issues and are driven by finding solutions that are feasible and create long-term sustainable environments. The Map and Planning Division is characterized by good treatment; we are easy to collaborate with and meet other people with respect. These are qualities we value highly. Regardless of what tasks we have, we are an important part of the whole in the municipality. We engage in our tasks and the people we meet in our work.

The work involves both being able to work independently and in a group, as well as being able to structure and prioritize when several planning processes are running in parallel. You need to be proactive, initiative-taking, and solution-oriented to handle complex planning issues. The assignment includes written and oral communication, such as consultations with interested parties, information meetings for the public, and presenting cases for politicians in the municipality's committees.

If you have an interest and eye for the design of the public space, it is meritorious, as you in collaboration with the Technical Department will serve as a valuable sounding board.

The position is a fixed-term contract for 6 months with a chance of extension.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as an urban planner, architect, or similar. You should be open and engaged and have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. We assume that you have worked with CAD and GIS programs and have knowledge of relevant legislation.

You should have the ability to independently drive projects, collaborate, and cooperate with colleagues, other departments, authorities, and the public. Since the position involves a lot of contact with the public, you need to have good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. A B driver's license is a requirement as the assignment involves some travel.
