About the Role

Are you looking for an exciting job where you can help build Sweden's sustainable energy society?

We are currently looking for a Substation Technician, on behalf of ONE Nordic, in Kalmar. The successful candidate should reside in the local area, as the position may lead to permanent employment with the company.

The role involves operation, maintenance, and installation of electrical power facilities, switchgear, and transformer stations (from 0.4 kV up to 400 kV). This is a vital societal role where you ensure power supply and build the energy infrastructure of the future. It is a job that combines practical fieldwork with technical problem-solving.

Tasks include troubleshooting and repairs, which may involve analyzing faults in circuit breakers, transformers, and other switchgear equipment.

You will also perform preventive maintenance, such as rounds, testing, and planned service to prevent downtime. During expansion and new construction projects, you will assemble and commission new equipment for grid and industrial expansions.

You will be based from home, which means you will take your company car home with you. Working hours are 07:00–16:00, with occasional overtime. Travel is rare, but may involve approx. 3–4 nights away from home per year. On-call duties may apply after some years of service.

Your Profile

You have a high school diploma, post-secondary education, or other training in electrical and/or power engineering. Experience in electrical and/or high-voltage work is meritorious. As a substation technician, you are as much a mechanic as an electrician, so good manual skills in mechanics are beneficial.

You hold a valid Category B driver's license, as the work is mostly performed in the field. You must be able to speak and communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.
