About the Role

1177 by phone offers residents qualified healthcare advice via phone 24/7, 365 days a year. The team consists of nurses – both generalists and those with various specializations. We primarily serve the residents of Västerbotten County but are also part of a national network for healthcare advice. We are constantly working to develop and digitize our operations. The operation has physical offices in three locations: Umeå, Skellefteå, and Lycksele, but in the long term, you may be given the opportunity to work part-time remotely from home.

1177 by phone in Västerbotten is an operation with a constant strive for good working environment, development, and innovation. Here you have good support from experienced colleagues and a symptom-based medical decision support system for assessing care needs. Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes residents feel secure. No day is like the other; we start each shift with new cases, and every call is unique.

As a nurse with us, you work to assess care needs based on symptoms and provide medical advice via phone. We use the uniquely qualified conversation process developed for 1177 for methodical work. As a work tool, we use the national, quality-assured decision support system (RGS) as support in assessment and record keeping. In the role, you refer residents to the appropriate level of care when needed, and you collaborate with colleagues in other parts of healthcare, with Sos Alarm, and partially with other regions in northern Sweden. Based on collaboration with 1177 Direct (chat), there may be opportunities for rotation between operations. The telephone advisory work is inherently independent, but we work together as a team. The questions that come in are broad and varied. Here, you get the opportunity to use all your knowledge and experience in a new and very educational way!

All new employees undergo a thorough introduction program with both theoretical and practical training together with our educators, followed by further long-term onboarding with a supervisor from your work group who serves as your support and sounding board. This is to ensure you have the best possible conditions to feel secure in your role.

Working hours are scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends. Occasional night shifts may occur as needed. We apply an operation-based preference schedule with good opportunities to influence your work schedule. The possibility of switching between office work and remote work may be offered after approx. 6 months, depending on competence and experience. The employment level is 100%, but you can also choose to work less if you wish. The location is flexible between Umeå, Skellefteå, or Lycksele.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. We prefer that you have experience in the professional role and possess good medical knowledge.

You are confident in your professional role and are accustomed to making assessments. You have good communication skills, are receptive, and have a good manner of dealing with people. You are computer literate and feel secure with digital tools. You speak and write Swedish fluently and understand and can express yourself in English. Other language skills are meritorious. You enjoy working both independently and in a team. You are attracted by the challenge that every call is unique and gives you the opportunity to help people to better health.

We consider it meritorious if you have experience with telephone advisory services and if you have specialized training.
