Job Responsibilities

Do you want to help make Gothenburg a cleaner and more welcoming city? The Waste Management and Winter Operations department is responsible for ensuring that Gothenburg residents are met with well-maintained streets, squares, parks, and waterways throughout the year. We handle everything from weed control and fountains to public toilets and life-saving equipment. We are currently in an exciting and expansive phase with many new assignments. We are now looking for an engaged maintenance technician who wants to become part of our team of approximately 100 employees.

The Role of Maintenance Technician

As a maintenance technician with us, you have an important operational role where you work closely with both the unit manager and the coordinator. You are a central part of daily operations and ensure that assignments are carried out with high quality. The role also includes certain delegated occupational health and safety tasks.

Your main responsibilities:

• Handling and driving skid steer loaders (wheel loaders) with associated equipment, such as weed brushes.
• Driving flushing trucks equipped with high-pressure washers.
• Performing minor repairs and maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Supporting street maintenance crews during major operations and, if necessary, participating in the team's regular work.

Qualifications

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who enjoys practical work and has good technical understanding. Since the work takes place largely outdoors in traffic, you need to feel confident maneuvering vehicles in an intense urban environment.

We are looking for you who have:

• Completed upper secondary education or equivalent.
• Category B driver's license and good experience driving in city traffic.
• Experience operating machinery.
• Technical competence in simpler repairs and assembly of machine equipment.
• Unhindered proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, to communicate safely and effectively.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Category C driver's license.
• Category BE driver's license.
• Operator's certificate for wheel loaders.
• Experience working with handheld machines (e.g., trimmers).
• Good digital maturity and experience using apps and various systems at work.

As a person, you are responsible, meticulous, and thrive working independently. Since our assignments can change quickly based on weather and needs, you must be flexible and solution-oriented. You have a positive attitude, professional demeanor, and are not afraid to "jump in" where needed. We value your ability to collaborate and your curiosity to contribute to the development of operations.
