The EMC-Vehicles unit within Vehicles and Automation is expanding its operations with new testing laboratories, and we are now seeking two Test Engineers for our location in Borås.

RISE works with electronics for safety, reliability, and demanding environments. We cover the entire development chain from research and development to final testing and certification. One of the world's largest laboratory complexes for vehicle EMC testing is located in Borås. Here, we work together with our industrial customers to develop reliable and interference-resistant electronic designs for vehicles, defense systems, and industry.

About the role

The goal of the Test Engineering group is to offer our customers top expertise in vehicle EMC testing, defense systems, and consulting regarding most common standards in these areas.

As a Test Engineer, you will primarily work with testing in our vehicle component and vehicle EMC laboratories. Depending on your background experience and competencies, the role may also involve programming our own test programs, project management, on-site measurements, and investigation/analysis consulting. Shift work and weekend shifts may occasionally be required depending on the role and customer demand.

Your main tasks, depending on your background experience, will include among other things:

  • Prepare, lead, execute, analyze, and report on tests.
  • Participate in on-site measurements at customer locations, with travel mostly within Sweden.
  • Prepare customer quotations for upcoming testing.
  • Perform analysis and investigation assignments – independently or in a team depending on competence needs.
  • Provide support to our research side in measurements and/or assignments.
  • Maintenance and service of our labs and measurement resources.
  • Daily customer contact, acting as the face of the organization.

Test assignments vary greatly depending on the product to be tested and certified, bringing new exciting challenges every week. You will use a variety of measurement instruments required for our operations, so practical experience with different instruments is advantageous. You will work directly with our customers, who consist mostly of Swedish manufacturers and representatives.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on electronics, electrical power, or energy.
  • Documented knowledge and experience within EMC.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
