As a Data Engineer for VPP, you are responsible for developing and maintaining our data infrastructures that support our VPP and EMS systems. Your primary task will be to ensure that data flows are efficient, reliable, and scalable, as well as to contribute to improving our energy management forecasting models.

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines for collecting, processing, and storing large volumes of data from various sources.
• Collaborate with data scientists and software developers to implement data solutions supporting our VPP and EMS products.
• Optimize data storage and processing to ensure high performance and availability.
• Implement and manage ETL processes to ensure accurate and up-to-date data.
• Perform data quality checks and debugging to identify and resolve data issues.
• Contribute to the development of data models and algorithms to improve energy management strategies.
• Develop and improve forecasting models to predict energy production and consumption, and integrate these models into our VPP and EMS systems.
• Analyze historical data and trends to improve forecast accuracy and support decision-making.

We are looking for someone who has:

• An MSc in Data Science or equivalent
• Experience in modeling and simulating energy systems and markets
• Knowledge of the Nordic power system and its regulation

In terms of personality, we see that you are goal-oriented, collaborative, and able to work independently. We welcome your own ideas and initiatives. Furthermore, experience with energy systems and electrical engineering is meritorious, as this is CheckWatt's core business.

Good English skills, both spoken and written, are required as CheckWatt operates internationally in both commercial assignments and R&D projects. Several employees do not have Swedish as their native language and prefer to speak English, so it is also the language often used internally.

With offices in Stockholm and Gothenburg, CheckWatt serves more than 5,000 subscribers in Sweden with IT services for energy storage and renewable electricity production. Sales are primarily directed towards property companies as well as through partnerships with energy consultants and installers. Transitioning from fossil fuels to renewables is a societal shift on a scale comparable to the digitization of communication. Everything is affected.
