Bohusgranit is a company within the Bender Group that quarries and produces natural stone products. Approximately 75 people work at the company, quarrying and processing products ranging from curbstones and paving stones to unique works of art.

Quarry Workers

We are now looking for Quarry Workers for our block stone quarry in Ävja.

As a Quarry Worker, you will become an important part of our work in processing granite. The job involves learning a craft at our block stone quarry, which includes wire sawing, splitting, and detaching rock for further processing in one of our production units. You will be part of a work team of approximately 10 people who jointly solve the tasks at hand.

Responsibilities

Quarrying rock is a craft. The rock's directions and properties are some of the aspects that are most difficult and take the longest time to learn. Drilling split holes to detach the rock and holes for wire sawing are part of the daily routine. Splitting the detached rock into smaller, manageable pieces is also part of the daily work, as is hauling away material that cannot be processed. Taking care of your equipment and performing daily maintenance is seen as a natural part of the job.

The work is carried out outdoors, year-round, and is physically demanding.

Profile

As a Quarry Worker at Bohusgranit, you work in the quarry both individually and together with your team, where collaboration and communication are key success factors. You have good communication skills, a positive attitude, are proactive in your work, and are diligent regarding time and safety. Since we work in teams, your personal qualities are important for contributing to the group's good atmosphere and results.

A driver's license is required for the position, and we would prefer that you have a high school education. Contributing to a safe workplace and participating in risk and consequence analyses is seen as an important part of everyday life. A forklift or wheel loader license and experience with such machinery are meritorious but not required. We are looking for someone who enjoys physical work and has experience working outdoors regardless of weather. Previous experience such as scaffolder, laborer, rock blaster, or drilling worker is meritorious.
