We are now looking for a School Librarian who will work with several different school units in the municipality, including special education schools.

1 position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will become an important employee in the school's work with reading, information seeking, and digital competence. You will work closely with students from preschool class to upper secondary level, as well as in special education schools. Together with teachers, you will contribute to creating a love for reading and making the library a natural meeting place.

Your responsibilities include:

• Running and developing the school library's operations in line with steering documents and legislation
• Supporting teachers in teaching, e.g., regarding source criticism and information seeking
• Planning reading-promoting activities, such as book talks
• Building and maintaining a current, inclusive media collection (printed, digital, and in multiple languages)
• Creating a welcoming reading environment where all students feel at home
• Having system responsibility for the school's part of the library system Quria and the school libraries' website/web catalog Welib
• Shared responsibility for the school library center together with our other school librarian

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who want to make a difference in young people's daily lives and who enjoy both meeting students and working systematically in the background.

You have:

• A degree in library and information science or other education that the employer deems equivalent
• Experience working in libraries, preferably school libraries
• Good digital competence and familiarity with library systems and digital resources
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both oral and written; knowledge of additional languages is a plus

You are confident in meetings with children and young people, with the ability to create calm and curiosity.

You are engaged, proactive, and have an easy time collaborating with several different work groups. You are structured, flexible, and have a creative approach to your work.
