Do you want to work close to the patient in a cohesive team where you can develop within advanced care?
At the hospital in Torsby, you will become an important part of a operation with great commitment and a strong sense of "we".
Your workplace
We are a small hospital in northern Värmland with a big heart and commitment to our patients and employees. We work based on the vision "to create a hospital where we ourselves would like to be patients". At Torsby Hospital, we offer a workplace with strong community, short decision-making paths, and opportunities to influence. The sense of "we" is constantly present, and all units play a central role in the work with and around our patients.
Our intensive care unit has two high-tech intensive care beds and four intermediate care beds. Here, patients from the medicine, surgery, and orthopedic clinics are treated. During on-call hours, we receive post-operative patients, and we also perform short ICU visits such as electrical cardioversions, central venous catheter insertions, and lumbar punctures.
As an IMA nurse (Intermediate Care Assistant Nurse) with us, you will become part of an engaged and cohesive team working with advanced care and life-saving interventions, where every day makes a difference. We enjoy our work, have a good sense of humor, and are characterized by caring for each other and having high professional pride. We offer you an individually adapted introduction based on your needs and knowledge.
The position has a base placement on a regular ward with a time-limited placement on the intensive care unit (ICU) for a maximum of two years. The purpose is to give you in-depth insight into the work as an ICU nurse and create good conditions for further training to become an ICU nurse after completing the IMA/ICU placement.
Your responsibilities
Here, you care for patients with failure of vital functions who need close monitoring and advanced care interventions. The work involves close collaboration with ICU nurses, where you are involved in the care of patients with threatened or manifest failure of vital functions, for example, in severe illness, accidents, or in the post-operative phase.
You are responsible for continuously monitoring the patient's vital parameters and acting when there are changes in the patient's condition. The work is done in a team together with nursing assistants and anesthesiologists.
The position is varied and developmental, with good opportunities for learning in daily work. The schedule includes time for development work, teaching, and internal lectures, among other things through regular unit meetings.
Working hours are during day and evening times, Monday to Friday, full-time. The percentage of the position can be discussed based on preferences – for example, if interested in combining positions or working part-time. Do not hesitate to contact us, and we will look into the possibilities.
Your skills and competencies
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with at least one year of experience. For us, it is important that you are secure, stable, and like to take initiative. We value your ability to collaborate and communicate openly. If changes occur during the work shift, we support each other in the team, and it helps if you are flexible in your working method. Your good judgment is valuable for making your own assessments and prioritizations, sometimes with limited information and time. It is also important that you understand your significant role as a nurse and can consider the best interests of the patient and the operation in actions and decisions.
