Vårdcentral Avesta is one of the region's health centers, located at the Avesta Hospital area. We have approximately 11,000 registered patients, and about 65 people work here across various professional categories such as doctors, nursing assistants, speech therapists, medical secretaries, nurses/district nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, midwives, and foot care therapists.

As a nursing assistant at Vårdcentral Avesta, you will assist doctors at the doctor's office, staff the lab and perform sample collections, as well as work administratively with appointment bookings and staff our reception. You will also have a nursing assistant clinic where you, as a nursing assistant, change catheters, perform simple wound dressings, audiograms, spirometry, etc. In addition, other tasks occur, such as ordering supplies to the storage room and unpacking consumable materials.

The position is a fixed-term contract from 2026-08-17 to 2027-02-14.

Requirements:

• We are looking for you who are trained as a nursing assistant (undersköterska) who has completed the Care and Nursing Program or the vocational package Care and Nursing at adult education.

Information about the job title

From July 1, 2023, "undersköterska" (nursing assistant) is a protected job title. This means you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title "undersköterska" within care and nursing.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in care and nursing, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For you who are offered a job with us at Region Dalarna after July 1, it means that the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. You who had a permanent employment with the title nursing assistant when the new rules came into effect on July 1, 2023, can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can keep the title even if you change workplace/employer after July 1. After that, you need to have a certificate of the protected job title to use the title nursing assistant.
