Your responsibilities

60% of the position is as a sports instructor in handball. The remaining 40% will include other tasks at the school, such as short-term substitute teaching or work in our break room. You will be responsible for handball training within the school's profile activities for junior high school students.

In your role as a sports instructor, you will meet the different classes twice a week. One of the training sessions takes place in the gymnasium with a ball, and the other is on the gym floor (not for year 7). The training is adapted individually for maximum development in the sport. It is also important to focus on the soft values in team sports, where camaraderie and team spirit are trained and developed in a positive way. You instruct and coach students in handball based on their individual conditions, creating a safe and stimulating learning environment that promotes both athletic performance and good camaraderie. You will participate in the planning of sports-related activities and any schedule-breaking days. It is also important that you contribute to the school's preventive and promoting work for good student health and study environment.

Your workplace

Ånestadsskolan is located near the central parts of Linköping and has two school units: F-6 (preschool to grade 6) and 7-9 (grades 7-9). Each unit has a principal and an assistant principal. This position is located at the 7-9 unit, which has approximately 270 students and 45 employees. Students come from various parts of Linköping Municipality. We have an inspiring outdoor environment with proximity to nature.

The training takes place partly in Ånestadshallen, located next to the school, and partly in Kungsbergshallen, which is about a 20-minute bike ride from the school.

You who apply

You are an engaged leader who is passionate about combining athletic development with pedagogical leadership. You have a strong anchor in the handball world and a genuine interest in the development of young people. You have a coach/leader education in handball or other education that the employer finds equivalent. You should also have previous experience coaching young people aged 13-16.

As a sports instructor, you are a good role model, confident in yourself, and have good self-awareness. You have the ability to adapt your training to the students and allow them to participate to a reasonable extent. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning, and you document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
