The Role of Personal Assistant

As a personal assistant, you represent Hela Sveriges Assistans. In this role, you will complete a web-based training on what it is like to work as a personal assistant. Together with the client and your colleagues, you will strive for high quality and adhere to the company's values and policies.

As a personal assistant, you are responsible for reviewing information sent from the head office and, if necessary, seeking information available on the website. For other matters, contact your supervisor or the head office.

About your role as a personal assistant with me

I am looking for a new assistant who can work with me on a schedule over the summer, and continue as an hourly substitute thereafter.

I am a man of about 60 years old with an acquired disability that makes me wheelchair-bound. I can walk short distances with a walker, so I only need support during transfers.

What I expect from my assistants is that you are available if I need help, but I want to and can do what I can independently. There is an assistant center where you can sit and still be at hand.

I have epilepsy. As an assistant, you will be shown and instructed on how to act if I were to have an epileptic seizure.

There is a small dog at my home, so you must not be allergic, and it is a plus if you like dogs. I require you to have a driver's license as I have a car that we use when I go somewhere.

Working hours vary between day, evening, and weekends.

Requirements

• Category B driver's license
• Fluent in Swedish (spoken and written)
• Not allergic to dogs (there is a dog at the workplace)
• Experience working as a personal assistant

Meritorious Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as a personal assistant
• Familiarity with dogs, as there is a dog at the workplace

Before we offer employment, you must show an unopened extract/digital mailbox from the police's criminal record. We also require a valid Swedish work permit, such as a passport or an approved work permit from the Swedish Migration Agency.

We train our employees to ensure the quality of personal assistance. All our new employees complete a web-based introductory training for personal assistants before their first work assignment, or no later than one month after the start of employment.
