The Education Administration is responsible for preschools, leisure centers, primary schools, upper secondary schools, and adapted primary and upper secondary schools. We have just over 3,200 employees at 40 preschools, 22 primary schools, and four upper secondary schools. The Role and Responsibilities
As a school counselor, you are part of the school's student health team, focusing on promotion, prevention, and intervention, with an emphasis on creating a good environment for students' health, development, and learning based on proven research. Your duties include working preventively and interventionally against bullying, discrimination, and harassment. You conduct supportive and motivational conversations with individual students and groups, conflict resolution talks, and social investigation and mapping work. You engage in values-based work and participate in planning, drafting, and implementing action plans within this area. You are available for advice and consultation on various issues. A natural part of your work involves contact with students, guardians, and staff, as well as collaboration with external agencies outside the school, such as social services, child and adolescent psychiatry, and habilitation services, among others. You set boundaries based on your assignment and prioritize your tasks according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's directives. You participate in the local crisis group together with the school leadership.
You have a natural, respectful attitude towards people's differences and prioritize safe and good relationships, sharing the school's values. You have the ability to independently identify and create opportunities for change and development at the student, group, and organizational levels. You must also be able to handle and prioritize different types of cases and tasks. Flexibility is your motto, and you have a good ability to vary working methods and approaches based on needs.
What We Offer You
An developing job at Alby höjden where you make a real difference! Grindtorpsskolan has a fully developed Student Health Team (EHT) where you are a key part. We collaborate with our neighbor, Kvarnhagsskolan, and hold EHT conferences three times a year together to develop student health across Alby. You are the only counselor at Grindtorp, but you have a colleague at Kvarnhagsskolan whom you can work with when it is time to write plans or in case of a crisis. In addition, you are part of our Social Team (you might know it as the safety team, but we like to come up with fun things for our students, so "Social Team" felt like a better name).
If you are not already a certified YAM instructor, you are welcome to take such training during working hours when you work with us. If you are not already familiar with Botkyrka's violence prevention program TÅGET, you will receive further training in it as well. Keeping the threads so that the school is in sync with TÅGET is an important part of your work with us.
Who You Are
Requirements: - Degree in Social Work (Socionom)
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Digital competence for documentation and other administrative tasks
It is difficult to say whether experience working as a school counselor is a requirement or a merit. The person you are replacing has had extensive experience and high competence, and we understand that it is naturally difficult to fill anyone's shoes in that regard. However, we truly believe that you need to have experience with systematic quality work, annual calendars, and other important administrative aspects of being a counselor so that we can ensure we do not regress in our development.
Merits: - Experience working as a school counselor
- Good knowledge of the Education Act and the Social Services Act
- Experience with ProRenata
- Experience with DF Respons
- Experience with sociograms
- Experience working in municipal operations
- Other language skills
