Mobility School Librarian at Borlänge Municipality

1 Position(s)

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a mobility school librarian, you are part of the Language and Competence Centre and work across several schools, playing a key role in the development of school library activities. You support students and staff in both reading promotion work and information seeking, source criticism, and media competence.

You move between different school environments and adapt your work based on local needs and conditions.

Tasks:

  • Plan and implement reading promotion initiatives
  • Support students in information seeking and source criticism
  • Collaborate with teachers in teaching and projects
  • Develop school libraries as pedagogical resources
  • Contribute to digital competence and MIK (media and information literacy)

The position involves work at several schools, which may require travel.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic requirements for the position:

  • Adequate education for the assignment.
  • Experience working in school libraries or educational activities.
  • Pedagogical education or teaching experience.
  • Valid driver's license (Category B).
  • Very good oral and written skills in Swedish.

Personal qualities:

  • Independent, structured, and flexible.
  • Good teamwork skills and ease in building relationships.
  • Strong commitment to reading and learning.

Meritorious qualifications:

  • Education in library and information science or equivalent.
  • Confident in meeting children and young people of different ages.
  • Experience working across multiple units or in development assignments.
  • Knowledge of digital tools and library systems.

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Salary: Monthly salary.
  • Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
  • Duration: Fixed-term employment for 6 months, starting 2026-08-01 or as agreed.
  • Working hours: Daytime.
