About the position

Personal assistance is a support measure under the LSS Act (Act concerning Support and Service for Certain Functionally Disabled People). As a personal assistant, your main task will be to help the client with daily occurrences and basic needs. Your work involves safeguarding the client's self-determination and integrity, contributing to a smooth daily routine. Each assistance assignment is uniquely adapted to the client's life, so tasks may vary depending on the workplace.

As a personal assistant, you will accompany the client to school and work together with another assistant. Your duties are varied and include support with communication, play, and activities during breaks, as well as training and stretching. You will also help the client with meals via PEG, transfers to and from the wheelchair, personal care, inhalations, suctioning, and other daily needs.

The client does not use spoken language and communicates using pictures. You will also learn to interpret the client's sounds, facial expressions, and body language to best understand and meet their needs.

Who are you?

The role of personal assistant places high demands on teamwork and relationship-building skills. We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys working closely with both the client and colleagues. You are engaged, responsible, and reliable, with the ability to take initiative and contribute to a safe and smooth daily routine for the client.

Requirements for the position:

  • Previous experience working with children with disabilities in complex assignments
  • Good knowledge of Swedish
  • A careful, proactive, and positive person
  • Good physical condition and not afraid of challenges
  • Non-smoker
  • Not allergic to cats

Merits for the position:

  • Experience working with lift belts and different aids such as standing frames
  • Experience with tube feeding, inhalers, and suctioning
  • Knowledge of epilepsy

Personal suitability will be given great weight.

Working hours, employment share, and salary

The current form of employment is "for as long as the assistance assignment lasts" with an employment share of approximately 75%. Shifts are scheduled on weekdays, 9 AM - 3 PM. The work also covers school holidays.

Fixed hourly wage according to agreement, and other benefits are paid according to the collective agreement.

Start date: 2026-07-20 or according to agreement.
