Here, you will meet children, adolescents, and families in vulnerable life situations, giving you the chance to be a crucial support in their journey. The Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Clinic in Dalarna is a county clinic. In Falun, there is inpatient care with a neonatal unit and a unit for ages 0–18, where surgical and orthopedic patients are treated in addition to pediatric patients. For longer outpatient visits and treatments, there is a day-care service.

In outpatient care, there are clinics in Falun and Mora where all subspecialties within pediatrics are represented. Organizationally, the social worker belongs to the paramedical group together with physiotherapists, play therapists, and dietitians.

Responsibilities

As a social worker here, you work with psychosocial support and assessment, crisis counseling, and collaboration with schools, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan), and social services. You will actively contribute to the development of our medical work and will meet families within pediatric inpatient and outpatient care. You will also be part of a diagnostic team regarding children and families, working together with doctors, nurses, dietitians, and physiotherapists.

The position is a fixed-term assignment from 2026-10-01 to 2027-09-30.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work (Social Work)

Merits:

• Previous experience working with children, adolescents, and families within healthcare
• Licensure as a Healthcare Social Worker (Hälso- och sjukvårdskurator)

Region Dalarna will introduce a requirement for licensure as a Healthcare Social Worker from 2029-07-01 for those who are to work as social workers within healthcare. If you are offered the position and lack licensure, you will need to complete supplementary education to achieve eligibility to apply for licensure. This will be planned in consultation with your nearest manager.
