Organization Description:

Dormsjöskolan is a residential care home (HVB) for boys aged 7 to 23. We are located in Southern Dalarna, just north of Hedemora, and operate our own independent school. Here, children and young people live in five beautifully situated houses, near a lovely swimming lake and exciting forests. The environment offers opportunities for fun activities and quiet moments, supported by caring adults.

Target Group:

Boys with neuropsychiatric disabilities as well as social and emotional challenges. We have authorization for 28 boys, and placements are made under the Social Services Act (SoL), the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and the Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS).

Job Description:

The foundation of our approach is to create predictability and routines in a structured environment by providing a clear and recurring structure to the day, week, and year. We assess the abilities and difficulties of the children and young people, and this assessment, along with the care plan, forms the basis for an individual implementation plan.

The work primarily involves therapeutic and motivational efforts aimed at the child or young person. Personal care is also part of the duties. The goal is to help the children and young people achieve an independent life with successful school attendance.

The therapeutic work is tailored to each child's or young person's specific needs and conditions. Methods we use include social skills training, anger management, low-arousal approaches, comic strip conversations, social stories, and visual supports.

• Skilled at building trusting and positive relationships.
• Secure, solution-focused, stress-resistant, and patient.

Education and Other Requirements:

Education as a social treatment pedagogue or another equivalent education is desirable. A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record and suspicion register) is required upon employment.
