RESPONSIBILITIES
The Water and Wastewater (VA) Department within the Community Planning Administration supplies the urban areas with drinking water, manages and treats stormwater and sewage, and produces biogas. The department actively works to develop and improve operations to meet future challenges with a long-term, sustainable, and secure water supply in our growing municipality. The VA Department currently consists of approximately 75 employees, and you will join the Quality and Technology unit, which is responsible for supporting other units and the management team with reporting and follow-up, investigations and projects, advisory services and training, long-term strategic work, environmental scanning, etc.
As an Environmental Engineer with us, you work with environmental issues related to municipal water and wastewater operations. The role is broad and combines strategic work with practical elements within operations, projects, and authority contacts. In this role, you will have varied tasks ranging from case handling and administration to projects and investigations, including field measurements and sampling. The role requires you to work independently and plan and drive investigative work in collaboration with various contacts both internally and externally. As an Environmental Engineer, you are given significant responsibility and the opportunity to influence both the work and your own competence development. Your main workplace is the Sundet wastewater treatment plant, and you will join a workplace with good camaraderie and pride in our important societal mission.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who:
- have an academic education in environmental engineering, environmental science, chemistry, biology, water and wastewater technology, or a similar field
- have good knowledge of environmental legislation and preferably experience working with environmental issues within water and wastewater
- are structured and can plan and drive your work forward
- are meticulous and always strive to achieve a good result
- are flexible and adapt easily to changed conditions
- take initiative and contribute new ideas
- have good skills in building contacts and relationships that contribute to good collaborations
- enjoy working together with others while being self-reliant and able to make independent decisions in daily work
Great importance will be placed on personal qualities.
You express yourself well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing, and have good knowledge of the Office package. A driver's license (manual transmission) is a requirement.
