Medical Physics and Technology (MFT) provides expertise in medical radiation physics and medical technology within Region Kronoberg. The Medical Physics division consists of 17 employees, including hospital physicists, nurses, and engineers. We work with X-ray, radiation protection, emergency preparedness, nuclear medicine, MRI, and radiotherapy. Within X-ray, we collaborate with Region Kronoberg's well-equipped radiology and operating departments at the county's two hospitals, as well as with the Public Dental Service. Additionally, preparations are underway at Växjö University Hospital for a new unit for coronary angiography and PCI.

Job Responsibilities

You will primarily work within X-ray physics and radiation protection, where you will have the opportunity to contribute knowledge and experience as operational support in daily clinical work. The work includes optimization of methods and examinations, quality assurance, procurement, planning of new facilities, staff training, and development work within X-ray physics and radiation protection. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other hospital physicists, as well as other professional groups within both MFT and the clinical operations.

Assignments as a radiation physics management function and radiation protection expert may be included, as well as tasks in adjacent areas such as nuclear medicine and MRI. The content of the position may be influenced to some extent by your interest and competence.

The main location for the position will be Växjö University Hospital, but work throughout the county may occur.

Qualifications

You who apply for the position must have a Swedish license as a Hospital Physicist.

Experience of clinical work within the X-ray field and competence corresponding to the specialist level within X-ray is meritorious.

To succeed in the role, we believe you have a good ability to drive and take responsibility for your own work, as well as being confident in leading group work. You are communicative and value good collaboration. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

A B-class driver's license is a requirement for employment, as well as very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
