About the Department

SBF Construction & Environment is a department within the Community Planning Administration. We currently have 16 employees and primarily work with regulatory enforcement within the areas of the Food Act, the Environmental Code, and the Planning and Building Act. Here, you will work based on the context of a smaller municipality where tasks span the entire scope.

Job Description

As an Environmental and Health Protection Inspector, you will work with the planning and execution of supervision and case processing according to the Environmental Code. The work involves both processing incoming cases and initiating your own cases for prioritized objects. As an environmental inspector, you also work in a guiding role to support private individuals, businesses, and other societal actors.

We have supervision objects in several different industries, and we are responsible for supervising permit-required activities in the municipality. We need you, for example, if you want to work with industrial supervision, waste, quarries, metal processing, surface treatment, operations using solvents, wind power, solar parks, etc.

As an employee at SBF Construction & Environment, you have your own areas of responsibility, but there are always colleagues to discuss your cases with. Case processing is done digitally in our case management system, Castor.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are interested in taking supervision into the future for those we serve. You are educated as an Environmental and Health Protection Inspector or have equivalent education that we assess as comparable, and you are good at expressing yourself simply and correctly in speech and writing. We would prefer that you have work experience within supervision and examination according to the Environmental Code. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills and can work both independently and in a group. You have a strong commitment and are service-oriented. It is also important that you are proactive and have the ability to drive the work forward. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

The work is independent with significant personal responsibility, while also requiring good collaboration skills. Essentially, it is about handling many different cases, contacts, and situations with the support of legislation and your colleagues. The position requires a Category B driver's license.
